News and updates

DOE selects 63 tribal energy projects for over $125 million
On October 22, the DOE Office of Indian Energy picked 63 projects from 61 tribal entities in 16 states to move into award negotiations. The money is split three ways: 13 projects that build community-scale energy (including bringing power to about 150 tribal homes that have none and switching about 500 homes and businesses to natural gas heat), 27 early-stage development projects such as tribal utility and transmission studies, and 23 planning and feasibility projects for larger power projects. These are selections, not final awards, so funding depends on negotiations with DOE. Applicants can find their project with the state filter on the selections page.
Amount: more than $125 million total.
