In 1987, my uncle called my dad at our home in Groveland, Florida. Hannahville wanted me to come home.
I came back in 1988. That same year, Congress passed the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act. None of us knew then how much that law would change our community, our jobs, our homes, and our tribal government.
That call is where my memoir begins.
Did you come home to the reservation around then, or leave? Share your story in the comments.
I am writing this book first for tribal members.
More in the upcoming book. Follow Potawatomi Life for updates.
