What the book is
In 1987, the year before Congress passed the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, I came home to Hannahville. What followed was nearly 40 years inside tribal government and Indian Gaming: the bingo hall, the casino board, the housing authority, and tribal council. This is my record of how gaming changed our community, how decisions drifted away from the members who built the system, and what that cost.
Who it’s for
Hannahville members who lived through the change from member-run government to professional management. Anyone who serves, or wants to serve, on a tribal council, board, or committee. And readers anywhere who follow Indian Gaming, IGRA, and ICWA history.
If your department, school, or tribe wants copies for a board or training, contact me about group orders.
Thank you for reading and sharing. — Leroy Wandahsega II, Founder, Potawatomi Life
